Terms & Policies
RESERVATION POLICIES and Payment:
It's important that we maintain a regular Lesson schedule, both for the Student and for the Teacher. Payments are collected at the end of each month for the the following month. Typically, you'll pay for 3-5 Lessons at a time. Lessons are paid for in advance by PayPal, cash or check made out to Ron Bodanza. Your Lesson time is YOURS. You are guaranteed that your teacher will be available and prepared for your Lesson each week. A Student's first Lesson may be paid for at the Consultation or at the first Lesson.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
If a Student is going to be absent from a Lesson for any reason at all, please call - not email - Ron at (215) 644-8026 and leave a message briefly explaining the reason for the absence. There is a 48 hour Cancellation Policy to be eligible for a make-up Lesson. Not being prepared is sometimes an OK excuse, and the Student should not be discouraged from using a make-up Lesson if they really feel going to the Lesson would be an embarrassing waste of time. HOWEVER, EACH STUDENT GETS 5 (FIVE) MAKE-UP LESSONS PER 6 (SIX) MONTHS. DON'T ABUSE THEM. If a Lesson is paid for in advance and the Student has used up all of their make-ups and is absent from a Lesson, there will be no reimbursement for that Lesson. If a Student does not show up for a Lesson with no phone call, there will be no make-up or reimbursement for that Lesson. If your Teacher cancels a Lesson for any reason you will get your choice of a make-up or credit towards a future Lesson.
Behavior:
Behavior is expected to be perfect. The whole point of all of this is to learn, and so there is a zero-tolerance policy for problems with behavior. The first time your Teacher feels there is a problem, there will be a conversation with your Parent or Guardian. If there are any further incidents, there will be no more piano Lessons. All future Lessons that have been paid for will be refunded by check by mail.
Arrival/Pick-up:
Please arrive 5-10 minutes ahead of time and sit quietly and watch the end of the other Student's Lesson, and think about what you will be working on in YOUR Lesson. There will be some refreshments and snacks if you'd like. Try to make sure your hands and arms are warm before your Lesson starts, so maybe this would be a good time for that. Students can be picked up right where they were dropped off when their Lesson is over. Of course, Parents/Guardians are encouraged to stay for everything.
FACILITIES:
I like to teach on my 1924 Lester Baby Grand Piano because it introduces students to the feel of the real thing. I also use a Roland RD-700 Stage Piano so everyone gets their own space and sometimes, we can even play together.
MEDICAL CONCERNS:
Please advise your Teacher of any medical conditions or concerns it would be helpful to be aware of.
