The Alfred Method

Great for Beginners of all ages, starting at around age 6. The Alfred Method progresses at a Level that is moderately paced. Students in their first year should practice a minimum of 30 minutes, every other day. Remember, that may be 2 separate 15-minute Practice Sessions.   $9 per book

The Faber & Faber Method

The Piano Adventures Series is especially recommended for younger children, as low as age 4 (Primer Level), and Students who are looking for a slower pace (Level 1) to learning the Piano. There is a much larger focus on playing, getting used to the keys, and correct posture before the real Music Reading starts. It's useful (but not mandatory) if the Student can read English, because then they can read the directions themselves, and will be more likely to practice. Weekly Practice Requirements will vary depending on the Student.   $9 per book

The Bastien Method

The most demanding of the Beginner Methods offered at Point Breeze Piano. By the end of the first book, the Student will have Read and Played using both hands separately in multiple keys. The Grand Staff is introduced immediately, whereas the other Beginner Methods take a little while to get into the note names on the Lines and Spaces.   $8 per book
